Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I know this is really petty and a little strange, but it's bothering me. I didn't have the best holiday last weekend, and am feeling a little better this weekend. One of the good things about last weekend was that I got some really nice texts messages on a text thread, esp. from a friend that I didn't hear from in a long time. I wrote about how I had dinner with friends, and she wrote back and said, "great to hear from you, that you had dinner with friends." There were a few other messages in the thread too, that I wanted to refer back to. I pulled them up today to look and reminisce, I enjoy doing that, it makes me feel better.
I looked today and that whole part of the thread was just gone, missing. From time to time I wll delete messages or parts of threads because I think I might be running out of storage. I am not sure who owns the text thread or if it was reneged, but my message and the part where I said I had dinner with friends and it was commented on, plus a few others were gone. It really upset me. I had a bad day last Sunday and this message was one of the only nice parts.
I haven't seen my friend in a couple of months, and things have been a little more distant. I kinda felt like maybe she deleted the part where she said, "really nice to hear from you." She had commented on everyone's updates in the one statement, including mine, and that was gone too.
There are times when I notice my end of a text conversation disappears in a thread. I don't want to think the worst and think she "took her comments back," and mine too. (again I don't know who owns the thread) but it kind of upset me. I felt rejected. My phone has been prompting me that it it's about to run out of cloud storage, and I guess everything is cloud based on this, so I don't know, this could be it too. I can't really say. I guess you have to purchase more cloud storage and its not free.
There is no point in obsessing and worrying about it, but it left a strange taste in my mouth. Maybe there is a simple explanation, and it's just a small technical thing.

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmon

I do not know what else to say but it is strange that your phone is partially missing a text....if it is not the entire text then I do not believe anyone could have removed it....never heard of part text removals just full text....are you sure it is not in another thread on the phone and you just made mistake about where it was?
there is no owner on text until you get to multiple people who you text too and then everyone who replies with reply replies to everyone on the list....my AA sponsor says that can cause you to get booted out of the next thread that he sends....I do not know...I do not often send to a list of people I text one to one almost exclusively....
Not sure what happened to your texts, or like Bill said above, how parts of a text could be gone. Maybe the almost-full cloud storage, like you said.
An idea for next time, would be to take a screen shot of the texts that you like. This way, you will always have them stored in your Photos. That's what I do with texts that I like. I always have a copy of them in my Photos section, and it's easy for me to find it, even if it's years old.
Now, if you have Android, then none of these things may not work.
Good luck. Hope you find your texts. Call your cell provider, they might have ideas, too.
