Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Whether you gain a pound or lose a pound is not what you should be focusing on right now, in the scheme of things, the big picture its just not what is important. You, living your life, being happy, having a great quality of life, making friends and good relationships......this is all that's important. I know at 13 things like weight and such seem very important, but try to think about being happy and how great that would be.
Medications for depression can take a while to kick in, so don't be discouraged if things don't change right away. Eating healthy, cutting out the junk, getting good sleep at night, exercise and sunshine during the day, (Vitamin D helps with Depression) all can help beat Depression when used together. Talking to a Counselor or Therapist also very important, getting all those fears and emotions out and talking them through with someone helps clear your head.
I hope that you do well with your treatment. Those first appointments can be scary so write down any questions you may have and take them with you, that way you don't have to worry about being stressed and forgetting things when you get there.
Take care,
Kat
