I was hoping to get off seroquel for sleep, but that is not going to happen.  I was getting by on 50 mg per night and that was going alright. Suddenly that changed and I kept waking up after 2-3 hours, like clockwork.  No matter what I did or why, always woke up.  Exercise during the day, wind down at night, was up after 2-3 hours, so the doc put it back at 100 mg, was really disappointed because I was hoping that I could get off of it completely. I was probably focusing on it way too hard anyway and made it worse. Was up back at 4:30 AM again. Probably because I am looking for work now anyway. Making everything worse. Well back up it is. Didn't get out of the house until noon today.

Why don’t you get a pet for yourself? Like you’re using Seroquel ...which ain’t really good for you. It will make you dependent and addicted. The reason I mentioned having a pet is because its presence can relax you and make you feel more calm. This is what you need.Try it.!

Please be careful with this drug. I became hopeless and suicidal. I am just now getting it out of my system.

The longer you take Seroquel and the higher you go up on dosage the less of a Drowsiness or Sleep Causing side effect it has. Once you get into the higher dosages it kicks in at blood plasma levels for treatment of things like BiPolar Disorder and Schizophrenia....and as people with these Disorder take it daily in larger doses they also have to be able to function and not be sleepy. Its the Pharmacokinetics of the chemicals that make the medication.

It was never designed to be a sleep medication. They actually make other medications for sleep....low dose anti-depressants like Trazadone or hypnotic class sleep meds like Ambien or Lunesta.

If they only reason you're taking an Anti-Psychotic medication is to help you sleep....you might want to talk to your Dr. about trying a different medication.
