yeah totally if people put more effort into important things rather than laughing and making a huge deal out of people problems then the world might not be in the state that its in!

ah, but if the world was not in the state it is in than those in power whose power extends to the media would not have their power ;)

is that a bad thing then? they dont really seem to have that much power and that that they do have they just abuse.

Just a thought....As far as the media go... I wonder what people would find if the people who report on these people had their lives investigated and broadcast to the world.

We're not supposed to have any sympathy for these people because the have lots of money and all the things the rest of us are supposed to aspire too. Can you imaging having you children taken off you and being told in front of the whole world you are a bad parent? FFS that's enough to bring anyone down

EmmaammE - to those in power, yes, and they're calling the shots. and gotta remember, from their point of view its not abuse of power, we live in a system that looks up to success and down at failure so according to them, they're just being 'ideal' people and as long as their means to that end are legal(which they sometimes have the power to define) then they're not doing anything wrong. from their point of view, people who suffer deserve to suffer because they're failures....

sorry, i went off topic a bit there, the people we're talking about (celebs) are unfortunate tools of the media, feel sorry for them :/

more importantly, how do I become one of them? ;)

business leaders, media moguls etc...not sure about political leaders, i think they're just puppets of the former but then again the former themselves are puppets of the system as a whole.....i don't think you'd want to be one of them, i know i wouldn't, being consumed with greed and fear of loosing what you have must be a horrible way to live your life...'they' are as much victims of the system as anyone else, just have more and have more to loose....

cageddream i no what your saying but still its not right or fair. I would never want to be famous either. we 'normal people' forget that celebs are just as human as we are and have the same trials and strugle in life! just coz we become celebs doesnt mean we are immune from slipping up and making mistakes!

if you know what i'm saying than you should know that there is no right or fair in the system we live in, we play the part we're assigned through cause and effect:

- these people pursue a career that puts them in the public eye.

- media companies exist to make money and their owners are usually influenced to avoid topics that might not be in the interest of themselves or their network of people in power.

- people who are bored of the emptiness of their own lives are interested in watching other people's lives

- displaying the details of the lives of celebrities makes for politically neutral content while providing good income for the media companies.

it all adds up, what you are saying is like my brain cells saying that its unfair for my skin cells to be shed or for my anus cells to deal with shit everyday...lol
