I have registered to further my studies this year. I had always wanted to do it for years but something always had to happen to prevent it from happening. Right now I feel overwhelmed with the resposibilities of having to do well in school and as well as fullfing the requests of my demanding employer. Studying at this stage feels like a mistake, or is it? I'm not sure.I keep telling myself I'm not getting any younger and that it has to be done, or else I'll keep having regrets of knowing I didnt try harder. The course is challenging and have failed a couple of times on it. I should probably give up but something inside me keeps telling me to give it one more shot, one more push and my life could change for the better. At the same time another voice is saying,''you will fail again, so dont even get your hopes up.'' All these things are making very anxious, my selfesteem is at the lowest its ever been. I see no way out. It just feel like when you battling depression the odds of succeeding in life are against you. Should I give up or just keep chasing pavements?

I think you should do what is going to make you happy, going to school will make you get new friends and be social. It sounds to me a little that you don't really like your job so going to school will hopefully give you the option to get a new job. I think you should go to school if you are ready, don't go just to go because you might fail and it will make you more unhappy. You need to go back when you are ready and determined to do well so you don't fail. Just believe in yourself and always keep going no matter what. You are in my prayers

Studies and a job is a lot to take on! But you seem determined. Why not try your best and see what happens? If it doesn't work out, you can always try again. Best case scenario - you buckle down, get it done, pass your courses and maybe lighten up the depression! Worse case scenario - you give up, think about your defeat, become more depressed. What sounds good to you???

It can be difficult to go back to school one you've left. If you can juggle school and work at the same time then I would say to stay with it. School is not going to last forever. And you will realize it was all worth it when you have a diploma in your hand.

Thank you guys, you've given me a lot to think about. I think what makes me miserable is the fact that I accept the situation instead of doing something about it. Its not going to school that's the problem, its the job that I have chosen and putting up with things I do not have to. As a result I have decided to hunt for a better one since this environment is too toxic to be in.

There is no age limit for studying. You can keep on studying if you have that interest in you. If you think that the higher education helps you to find better opportunities and can take you to greater heights, it is better to continue studying.
