Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

So as I might have mentioned earlier, I did give notice at my job at my family's insistince. It just didn't seem sustainable. I know that people here suggested adminsitrative work, which I think is a good idea. I think continuing to pursue something that obviously doesn't work is a bad idea. I'm signed up on a temp. work app, Randstad, and I did accept an adminstrative assistant position. The trouble is that when they saw my teaching resume they were not interested. They have a lot of warehouse positions and this position was specifically for people who did administrative work in a warehouse. It seems to me that when I did temp work many years ago for Kelly services you didn't need to have any prior experience. I don't know. Maybe things have changed. I've never done fron't line warehouse work I'm not sure how I would do at that. Kelly was not interested when they heard I might return to the classroom in fall. It looks like they want mostly temp to perm. Maybe I can rewrite a third resume to repurpose some of my experience to highlight some of the administrative work that I do. The way she phrased it when she asked to see my resume was "look for a job with your experience." I said I was trying to transition out of education. Looks like I will need to redo my resume.
What is going on now is that my parents are severely pushing me being a teacher. I don't get this at all. I have an entire degree in something else. They are convinced that AI is destroying everything and so this is what I need to do. What they just don't get is that teaching wasn't working before and it's not working now either. And what I'm noticing is that before I went to grad school, I was able to hold down the job even though it wasn't going well, but for some reason now that I have the additional education, or maybe it's just because of my time away, the mismatch is worse than ever-they don't want me at all. It's funny, the actual lessons go fine-the classes I teachin the morning are smooth, everything is fine, people are learning, but the admin just seems hell bent on criticism and negativity, they just want to take apart what I'm doing piece by piece. Unfortunately I think they did me a favor asking me to quit. I don't know why but the online format seems five times harder than in person. And I'm not the only person who brought it up, there are one to two meetings per day, whereas on campus maybe just weekly or a couple of times per month. Not only do you have to do the grades, they then want them redone, like reentered all over again into a spreadsheet. There is no way to get it all done, you have to do it on the weekend.
So I'm going to give the Comp TIA a shot. The material does not feel natural at all. My friend said just buy the book and read it. It's cheap that way. The online course is pretty expensive. I think I'm just going to stop telling my parents my endeavors or what I really want, they are being extremely negative about that also. I don't get it. I don't want their constant involvement in my life, picking a career for me, telling me what to do. I also think it's time possibly for a different therapist, it seems like toxic positivity. I said pretty explicitly that there were a lot of red flags with this job and she just smiles with this fake smile when ever I tell her bad news and says, "let's look at the glass half full!!!" When there really isn't. And said, "Your teaching can be a healing experience!!!" I feel like her head is right in the sand. I feel like I need a therapist who is just more realistic. Even my own parents had a handle on the situation. My dad could clearly see that they were not giving me a chance. It had only been three weeks and just as I felt I was starting to get a handle on the situation they are showing me the door. But teaching was never working anyway, why would it work now.

If the work issues were not enough, I have so many health issues. It looks like I may have a heart problem. I'm scheduled to go in the operating room at the end of the month to determine once and for all if I have what is called a PFO-a small hole in the heart that you are born with that causes blood clots to pass through the left and right atria, and go up to the brain. They think this is what...

Here's a pic of the tee I talked about earlier. I've had it for about 44 years!
