Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
They are good people out there. And you need to be active to meet them. But you are active - you are here :-)
And such toxic people (who hurt you) should be eliminated from your life. I know sometimes is difficult to do it completely, but at least you can significantly decrease your interactions with them.
You have this group to meet good people or you can try many other ways. And you have an experience from meeting bad people that could help you with new encounters.
Big smile :-D
Listen, there comes a time in our lives when we have to protect ourselves from those who harm us. This is a sad but unfortunate truth. My family has been angry at me for 30 years; and the older, wiser and stronger I become, the more they punish me. That has convinced me that the problem is theirs; not mine; this is a reflection on who they are as human beings and not on me. While we all wish those we want to be close to would return in kind, the truth is, not all will.
I have turned from looking towards my family for this connection and have turned to those who actually want me around. In doing this, I can have one of two attitudes: Attitude Negative says, "I'm settling for second best, I'm doing this because I'm not good enough for them," etc. Attitude Positive says, "Jees, how gloriously fortunate I am to have such people in my life who treat me with such friendship; and they are here when I need them most! I am so thankful!"
The other two are a little more difficult, my friend. "Letting Go" and "Forgiveness".
Good luck!
