Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I have had to give a kid up for adoption because my parents in law clued me into something that was going on behind my back and I am pretty damn sure now that it was my exhusband. He wouldn't do a damn thing for me either for ten years and was a complete emotionally abusive prick. He even kept jerking around with social security and general assistance I finally kicked him to the curb a year and half ago our divorce was final August 2012. Ever since then I have had lots of panic attacks and almost died from a suicide attempt this august. I quit my job that I just barely got in October because of a delusional panic attack, ( I have PTSD ) So now I work with fast food and I am a slow person so they are not liking me there, all I can do to cope is to try to cheer my family up and be glad that I have a place to live. I got on Risperdol because my doctor thought I had schizophrenia strangely enough it helped with my panic attacks and I can think a little more clearly. I am not so sure if I should take it any more since another clinic has rediagnosed me with PTSD and it's making gain weight. I am going to try to go back to my call center job now that I have calmed down. I have severed many ties that I suspected may have contact with my exhusband and I intend to keep it that way. I have also been coping with taking up the guitar again and listening to different kinds of music than I used to. I am drinking more green tea and have changed my diet to vegan. If I have a bad day I take a hot bath relax and try to find one of my old photos to post up on my Tumblr.
I'm so sorry mostly that you had to give up your dogs. They are better than any medicine.
Your comment about your spouse seems like a consistent theme with people suffering with depression. My spouse is also upset with me and telling me that I never think about how anyone else is feeling and it's all about me. I really wish there was a way to make others understand how bad depression feels because there is no way to verbalize it.
Hang in there and keep posting. We all understand even if those close to you cannot.
I love animals (have 7 cats, far too many but they were strays with nowhere else to go). They are my survival kit. I am alone except for them. My heart goes out to you over everything you are experiencing, but especially having to give up your dogs. I am glad you were able to find good homes for them. Hopefully knowing they are well cared for helps with the pain of losing them.
The only thing I can offer you is my hopes that your life will improve soon, even if it is bit by bit. Keep posting until you find advice that helps you. Start new posts so that different people will see them. There are others on this site that have made it through what you are going through. Be patient and keep asking for help in coping with it all.
