Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

On the one hand, it makes me feel good to think that she still really cares for me. But then, it sucks because it is only due to the situation, and it is almost impossible to see a future for us together. It would be easier if she hated me and I just messed up somehow. It's like because of the situation, we cannot be together, and that is hard to wrap my head around.
This guy she is dating is a really nice guy. He was able to go to the store and buy her some medicine and food for when she was sick, and drove half an hour to her to deliver it. That is something I have not been able to do in years. And he does feel a little threatened by me, asking her several times if I can get better, because he sees how much I still mean to her. But despite that, he is willing to put up with her still helping me out, still driving me to doctors, and if I cannot find renters to stay with me at our house, she will let me move in until I find my own place. And he is as okay with that as he can be. He wants us to be friends. I do not think I can go that far, but that shows his goodness. I should be happy for her. Still sucks, still makes me angry, but I should focus on the fact she does love me and this guy cares for her enough to let her be in my life and wants to be in my kids' lives.
My choices right now are attempt to let her go and let her be happy and still be somewhat in my life, or chain her to me where she is miserable and battles with depression because she gets no outside help and we struggle with so much: time management, the kids, finances, her health, all my doctor visits and so on. Put simply like that, I have to let her go. I guess no one said it would be easy.
