Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I am actually a lot better now than a few days ago when I wrote this post. That day was a result of over a week of deep depression episode, all I could see in that moment is one image, that it was over for me, I am as good as dead, I genuinely felt I was worthless, not even worth breathing or living among other humans.. it was a nasty case of self sabotage.
I can be blinded by my own struggles I forget how focusing on helping others can be so helpful, remembering how everyone else have their own worries too, internal battles, can make mistakes and need their healing processes as well.. those who appear arrogant and dismissive on the outside are sometimes the ones who feel pain and too much but put on a facade to hide it.
I have actually spoken to therapists in the past, but it was a mixed picture, talking part helped me for sure, they always help, the other part is my role in my own healing, I have not done well at the time and went back to old ways without dedicating the time and effort to change my own life, because they cannot do miracles if the person themselves don't put the time needed to improve their own conditions. And as you have said, challenges help us grow, in the last 12 months I have felt I've changed a lot, recognised behaviours and old patterns that I no longer wanted in my life and it was solitude which allowed these conclusions, as hard as it felt at the time but result will be worth it!
I wish you the best too in everything, God bless you. Xx
