Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I am sorry to hear about your foot. That is very distressing. May I
suggest talking to the clergy at the hospital and tell them how you feeg?
Perhaps confide in your nurse, perhaps she can give you something for anxiety.
Know there may be other options other then the head floor, but if that is where you need to be that is okay too.
I have been in five times in the last year, the only time in my life I have been in a head hospital. I have a very serious chronic illness going on and have had difficulty coping.
Hang in there.
A "clergy" is a pastor, reverend, bishop, etc...
