Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I live one day at a time. I was never much of a dreamer. I wasn't the little girl dreaming of her wedding day. I didn't have plans for a career or college. I did go to college part-time for secretarial science for 1.5 years but my OCD ended that. I got into my career as a legal secretary after inviting my Mom to go shoe shopping with me. We stopped at a yard sale. My Mom bought a piece of furniture that she had to pick up later with my Dad. My Mom was talking to the lady having the yard sale and she said she was a legal secretary. My Mom told her that she wished I had a nice job like that. I was working in a factory, coming home dirty and exhausted every day. The lady said to send me in for an interview because her law firm was hiring. So that's how I became a legal secretary, supposedly picked out of 52 applicants. Then I went out on disability on January 19, 2019. Who knew that I would have so many problems performing my job. Who knew that I would become a hall monitor at a school and would love it? If I hadn't lost weight and joined Planet Fitness, I would not be able to do this job. Who knew when I broke up with a boyfriend in June of 1995 that I would still be alone? Who knew that I would reach a point that I was okay with being alone? So I don't pretend to know what I will feel like in 5 years. I was with a friend yesterday who was telling me all her plans to renovate her kitchen. She will never be able to afford those renovations. My house needs major renovations but I don't even give it a second thought. I can't afford it. Oh well, I'll get off of my soapbox! How do you deal with the future?

I have hobbies/interest's. Don't have any long-term dream's,
Last week, I just came back from a whole summer at the shore! (which I have been doing for the last 15 Year's) So, I guess I'm "living the dream"
But, never really had any aspirations of love and marriage or anything.......maybe just seeing who's out there, but nothing serious.
I have had odd job's also, But, Because of the nature of my disability, Can not work anymore.......I keep myself busy though, I work out at the gym and I volunteer at a hospital.
