My oldest sister recently moved back to town & hasnt called me once. I ran into her at my dad's rest home yesterday..very uncomfortable. She is very unforgiving & intolerant. I know the main reason is, is that I am speaking to our OTHER sister, the one she hates with a passion. She promised me she would never speak to me again if I had a relationship with our sister..she meant it! I was always close to my oldest sister until a couple of years ago..she has changed alot..just sad...

Just thought I would join this group now that I am a widower. My wife passed away May 28th. She was "The Wind Beneath My Wings". When I met her, I was a drunken, dope smoking, fighting, hell raising biker. She told me if I could get rid of the inner storm within me, that I could be a blessing to people. God placed her in my path to stop me. I have been drug and alcohol free now for 53...

Do you think anxiety is genetic or comes from your environment? What are your thoughts?
I have tried and tried to get her to respond, but she won't.
I say this each time. Not trying to preach, just help with peace....Luck...
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

If the positions were reversed, she would expect me to accept it. She was such a great older sister growing up. My mom constantly put us in harms way, & my sister always comforted me. I actually have 3 sisters. The one that is just 2 years older than me has always hated me, since we were little girls. We went through the same hell as kids with our mom & dad, yet she is convinced SHE had it 10 times worse. She picked up where my mom left off, with the beatings. I have 3 scars on my face from her. She & my oldest sister didnt speak for 10 years, & NOW they are best friends & hate me & our other sister. It is nothing but DRAMA, & im tired of it. I feel bad, because my oldest sister helped raise me & took such good care of me. She was my 2nd mother.
He hasn't talked to us since June and basically told us the same thing. "if you are going to stay loyal to my sister, then forget my wife and I". I told him that his mother and I loved he and his sister and we were not going to take sides. He said "fine" and hung up the phone.
This is sad, very sad, when families can not get along. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
I don't try to make her change her mind. If that is the way she feels then fine. I mean what I did had nothing to do with her, it had to do with her sister in law. She chose her over blood, fine.
I mean what I did was 30 years ago, I have worked very hard at changing my life and she knows it. I stuck by her through thick and then when she had some problems she could not handle. But the sister in law is more important to her. Yeah, ok.
You know what gets me? She claims to be a Christian who are taught to forgive, how does this work? She has always been a phony anyway. The mistakes I could hurl her way. She is far from perfect. But I won't. All she cares for is a big house and what the outside world thinks of her. So be it.
It was hard to believe when it first happened. It hurt me very bad. It still hurts, but their is nothing I can do about it.
