With the time changing today and the winter coming, I am going to start my light therapy again.
You sit in front of this light box and the light hits your eye lids and gets absorbed and changes the chemicals in your brain just like meds do. The lightbox is sort of expensive in the short term (mine cost about $80) but if it works then it would cheaper than trying a bunch of meds and going to the doc a lot (like copays and stuff). You can also research how to make your own.
A lot of light box makers have a 30-60 day trial so you can send it back if you don't like it.
My light box has two settings (7000 lux and 10000 lux) which sounds like a lot but it is not.
Everyone is different and you can play around with the angle, setting, space away from you.
It is worth giving it a shot in my opinion.
But still talk to your doctor before you do it.
If you have any questions feel free to message me.
I am on a mood stabilizer year round but in the winter I add this to my treatments.
Good luck!

I tried light therepy last year and it worked really well for me. I started feeling better right away and also slept better as well. I used someone elses and now I do not have access to this person nor their lightbox anylonger , so I will need to get one soon.

I ordered my light box yesterday. Iam glad that you reminded me. I found one for a really good price. Its a small one but its better then not having one at all.

Our house has a large south facing window by the kitchen table. Siting at the table in the winter sunshine is medicine for me.

I should look into one of those. I loooaaathe daylight savings...as if I didn't get bummed out enough by the colder months.

I lay in a tanning bed for 15 minutes or so once a week during the winter. It's amazing how much better I feel afterwards, and I don't really care about the skin cancer risk. Why worry about cancer when I don't know if I'll make it to tomorrow?
