Lexapro and anxiety

i've been taking Lexapro for about 2 weeks and I still have consistent low levels of anxiety.  Is this normal? Will it subside?

You need to tell your doctor who will do one of two things. Either increase the dose, or try something different. Prescribing those kinds of meds is not an exact science, quite often doctors have to try different ones to see what will work.

What is your current dosage? I still had quite a bit of anxiety on 10 mg. I'm now up to 20 mg and things are better, though not perfect by any means.

I was on a combo of Lexapro and Amblify.. for a few years. It was not doing anything for me. My doctor then suggest a combo of Prozac and Geodon. That combination, I noticed changes. The changes were for the better. Maybe tell your Pdoc. Let him know. For me, I wasted too much time on Amblify and Lexapro. Dunno. It was like taking nothing for me. Different brains, different chemical makeup? Just a suggestion.

Thanks everybody. I'm on 10 mg. They want to wait a few more weeks before I make a decision on dosage/other medicine. The waiting is the worst.

Sometimes, it takes 2 weeks to 30 days for Lexapro or any other drug in this category to work correctly. I'd give it a couple of more weeks then, if things don't change, contact your Dr. They changed these meds on me 4 or 5 times before they found something that worked best for me.
I was on Prozac, Paxil, Wellbutrin and, a couple others before I started on Lexapro. It has worked best for me. Hang in there.

LEXAPRO is garbage and the anxiety it causes at times is worse than dealing with my wifes depression. Ladies what med combo's worked for you guys.

    check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

     I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...
