Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I can generate them like so much electricity toward Vegas......
here's mine:
1.Stretching out your muscles
2. reading a favorite book
3. watching a favorite comedy
4. dancing to upbeat music
5. eat bananas, blueberries, and yogurt
6. breathing techniques for calm.
7. call a friend or close family member
8. take a walk
8. play a game with kids / family members or friends
9. change your hair or nails
10. paint something, whether wall or canvas or paper
11. touch trees and flowers, or dig in the dirt.
12. rearrange furniture
13. volunteer your time and talents to others who have even less than you.
14. Learn something new.
There. A good and decent list. *nods*
--Loud music
--Hobbies (I take out my football card collection and look it over to pass an hour or two)
--PalTalk (I go to a few of the different rooms and listen to the debates going on...it gets my mind off my stuff and makes me realize I'm not so crazy after listening to them lol)
--Hot shower
--Go for a drive
--Read or watch TV/Movie (preferably NOT something sad/depressing)
--Write (although writes block has been an issue)
--Anything that involves being out in the sun/warmth
Not all that long ago (maybe 4 years) I had the overwhelming urge to go buy one of those really strong magnets...I did so...took it...went and planted my ass in the dirt and collected "iron" out of the dirt...LOL! I didn't give a damn who saw me .....I had fun and it was something I loved to do when I was a kid and wanted to do it again so I did! :P
Have a warm bath with loads of bubbles and candle light. Followed by a self pamper, paint your toenails, finger nails, use a face mask, then moisturise your whole body....

anyway, yeah. Take the first word of each line of my list, and there ya go.
Walking makes me feel good also...
So far my list includes:
- Cuddling with my kitties.
- Gardening.
- Walking.
- Baking.
- Reading humorous books.
- Writing my thoughts down in a journal.
- Visiting with friends.
- Talking with friends and relatives on the phone.
- Having a nice warm soak in my bath tub.

With icing, of course! Not that I would ever eat them with the amount of finger-licking and dribbling that goes on .......
