I'm really tired of getting duped.
My daughter told me some things about her dad today that made me feel so betrayed. He tells me one thing, then I hear something completely different from someone else. This happens with him a lot more often than it should. We're not together, but we're still close...or so I thought. He's supposed to be my best friend, and now I feel like I can't trust one damn word that comes out of his mouth. My daughter made me promise I wouldn't tell him what she told me, so I can't even confront him about his big fat lies.
Then I loaned someone some money with the promise that I'd be paid back the next day. Then it became the next day. Then the next day. Well, tomorrow will be a full month. I've fallen behind on bills and incurred late fees because of this. I need to stop being such a sucker, thinking I can loan a lot of money (for me) to anyone. And stop thinking I can trust anyone but those who have proven they're worthy repeatedly over many, many years. Which is...5 people, two of whom are my parents.
I'm sick of lies and betrayal and being so stupid. I need to remember not to let myself get into these situations.
