Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I am sick at heart reading your post. I am so sorry that you went through such abuse at the hands of those so called foster people. Hard to call them human.
It sounds like your adoptive parents have been generally good to you. However, they are just people, like the rest of us. Sometimes they make mistakes, just like the rest of us.
I was angry about my childhood too. At 45, I lost my Mother to cancer. I lost my Dad to cancer when I was 19. My Mother lived with me during the last 2 years of her life.....she was bedridden. It was the first time we no longer acted like Mother and Daughter......we were two women fighting together for a cause......her life.
I imagine you are on meds, seeing a therapist.....etc.
I wonder if you could work with your parents and your medical team to eventually focus your anger regarding your history into a positive direction.......like going to school and training for something that will ensure that no child under your watch is subjected to what you have been through.
You have the advantage of youth on your side......time to heal......time to study.......time to make a difference in this world.
Your thoughts??????
I am sorry that you have had so many losses in the last few years, hon.....
There is a bereavement group on this site that you might find helpful......as well as this one.
Keep learning......keep moving forward. Big hugs !!!!
However, you will always have her in your heart. I believe in an afterlife and I believe she is guiding your path.
