I have spent the past two days with my wife at the Royal Brompton Hospital. Some of you may know my wife has a lung problem. We spent the time discussing her lung transplant, as well as having tests to see if she is fit enough and a suitable candidate. We find out thursday if she is go on to the waiting lists.
Some of the tests revealed her heart is showing signs of strain and that her condition is worsening, not rapidly but enough for concern. Without the double lung transplant, she may only have 10 years of life left, with it, she may live another 30.
She is only 32 and this is not fair. Apart from PAH, she is a healthy human being. She doesn't smoke, never has, not a big drinker by any stretch of the imagination, she excercises, all the things you're supposed to do.
It's just not fair. I am crying because I can do nothing to make this better or go away. We're not even the same blood type, so a tissue match is out of the question but I would gladly give my life if it meant she could live. She deserves better.
The only thing this wonderful woman is worried about is how me and my son will cope when she is gone, worried about others always.
I know I can't really cope, I'm just not strong enough. I can barely get through a day without crying recently, all this information has only made it worse. I can be strong for Sarah, I can be strong for William but I am a complete mess. The woman I want to spend the rest of my life with may leave me far too soon. I know I'm being selfish here but she is my entire world. I genuinely have nothing and am nothing without her. Fucking cliche bullshit but true. I hate cliches being true.

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.

It is so very hard going through a serious illness with such close loved ones. I wish I had some words of wisdom or advice, I wish I could do something more than spill words on here.
She sounds like an absolutely wonderful person and I am going to keep all of you in my thoughts that hope they can get her the transplant she needs very soon.

I'm not sure I have adequate words at the moment.
I love you to pieces, and am simply heartbroken for you.
Hugs, love, peace and well wishes being sent

I just don't know what to do. I'm supposed to be looking for work but how can I start working some where when I could be forced to quit to look after my wife. The random nature of the time scale means that it could be 6 months away, it could be 6 years.
Doing things that I can control will be a good start. Organising fund-raisers etc. It will help me if I can feel I am helping others.
no doubt i`ll catch up with you about this in due course, so shall refrain from a lengthy response here.
I pray your wife gets the medical treatments she needs and lives a long healthy life.
