Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I'm a 28 yo female, im good looking, highly educated and cultured person, but people just seems to dislike me for whom I am, I also seem to fail at everything. I'm really tired of myself, I have hate myself all my life, being in therapy, multiple medication, nothings seems to help for more than a few days. I got divorced few months ago from a very abusive man who called me crazy and irrational all the time because I didn't want to do crystal meth or keep supporting him. I moved across the country to open my new business but im so scared im.going to fail, I tried online dating and it was even worst, people there made me feel.like garbage. I very luky i got 2 friends, but they are busy whit their careers ans relationships.
I never thought I would find myself at 28 lonely, divorce, living out of my parents, just sad all the time... if it was not for my parents I would have kill myself long ago, I have fail to see the bright side of life, even tho I know im.lucky to have amazing parents and economic security.... and whit all is going on, I really don't want to keep going, I haven't been living during all my life, I been scrambling ans surviving thru my feelings... I sorry I know I sound like a breath wining but its how I have felt of my life and always failed to express it because people just point how easy my life has been (having loving parents ans financial support)
Sorry for the ranting, but I guess annonimitt gives the relive to say what is in out minds and as sad as it is, I know plenty of people feel the same.
Sorry for the spelling. I'm dyslexic ans fail to see some.obvious mistakes

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

For you love life. You can try going to the dating services or finding a dating coach. That would help. You can friend me.
I also think I have a terrible fear of failure that keep me from even trying sometimes. But you are right we often forget depression is a medical issue and treat ourselves terribly.
I've try dating apps, made everything worst, maybe I don't want to be with anyone, Is just the fact that feel like I'm unlikable that hits me the hardest. Like something is wrong with me in such a deep level that it doesn't matter how much effort I put on looking good or educating myself or.making myself cultured, people still dislikes me.
It's hard right now with all the lock downs, but how about calling up one of those friends, and chatting, make plans to get together soon for lunch, coffee or a drink (if you drink)?
Also, if you find yourself depressed often, try again with therapy and a psychiatrist who can prescribe a different medication. So many medications out there, and they all work differently.
Finally, write in a private journal, every night if you can. It helps to sort out your thoughts and feelings. Makes depression and anxiety less.
Welcome to the site and we're glad you're here!
Pete, 28 is still very young. You have time. And welcome to this site.
I know that it sounds like infomercial garbage, but progressing towards inner peace will make you a lot more resilient in situations like this. For me, that's daily gratitude exercises, meditation, affirmations, calling friends, journaling, reading mental health books, talking to people on here, utilizing real life support groups, therapy, and taking care of health. Obviously, you'd know what's best, but I think that you can't tie your well-being to your achievements so much, I still live at home and haven't done much yet, but I still try to appreciate myself as a whole, useful human being. Hope it helps, good luck.
Don't get hung up about the divorce. Many people stay married and are desperately unhappy.
Thank God you had no children.
I think you should concentrate on therapy not dating. You need space
