Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Just need to get this out and will take any advice. I have suffered from anxiety and panic attacks for about 9 years now. In this elapsed time I have had it under better control because I had a better understanding of what was going on. Lately I feel like my anxiety has turned into a bit of a depression...I'm not really sure how to explain it. I can feel fine when I am out or with people but and the end of the day deep down I feel just no desire or able to be happy. It's sad like I should be able to be happy but can not find joy in much anymore. Anyone relate or have advice to just try and be in a better place?

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

And I get the feeling down but with no reason part. Even on the rare occasion I have a good day come the end of it I know deep down none of my issues have been resolved and you just feel depressed again.
I think it’s natural. The longer the depression goes on the less enjoyment you get out of things, even if you loved them before.
As for advice, well my life is a bit of a mess so I don’t really have a solution for you. Wish I did. I have started CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy). I’ve only had one session and it was just an introduction session but it felt good just to open up about it and talk with someone. Maybe you should look into it. I really hope you make some progress with it.
Like I said i’ve only had the introduction session so I may end up finding it useless but I went for it because it was better than doing nothing. You should google it, there should be plenty of info available on it.
One issue I have with it is that it mostly focuses on you in the present and how your current behaviour can be ammended. It doesn’t seem to explore the past, which will be a slight issue for me because I think a lot of stuff in my past led me to the state I am in today. I’m not sure if it’s a similar case for you. But hey, you don’t know until you’ve tried I suppose.
If you don't want to read this book or if you have a difficult time to understand it then meditation can help. There are alot of excellent guided meditations on you tube....Find one that resonates with you, or just google a tutorial for a meditation for anxiety and depression.
