Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Have a happy Thursday as well!
BTW, can I guess that you are a Harry Potter fan, given the user name of MuggleGirl? I really loved the Harry Potter books, and am having fun with the Fantastic Beasts franchise.
My name is Pepper, and I am one of the user moderators assigned to the depression group. Interacting on DS is pretty straight forward: read posts, comment where you can, be supportive, take time to get to know people.
Most things here are designed to be open, but you can restrict access to friends only, or to yourself only. So look at people's journals, their photos, etc. Enter comments where you wish. And expect people to do the same with you, as they get to know you.
One thing I have learned here is that it takes us all time to learn about our depression (or other issues on other forums) and we often do not include information when we post. Sometimes it is because we just do not know it is relevant, other times we are not aware of it, and other times we are not ready to share it, perhaps we are even in denial about how we feel about things.
Depression can get complicated. It is my personal belief that a good way to defeat depression is to uncomplicate things by confronting our feelings.
So to all newbies, WELCOME to DS!
Gentle hugs
If anyone is having a bad day, there are some really funny Harry Potter memes. Just do a google search and you could be laughing in minutes!
