A couple of weeks ago I ended up in A&e with my first panic attack. I went to see my GP who prescribed me beta blocker after all the usual blood tests came back fine. Now I find I cannot eat through being nauseous, have lost weight, no interest in anything. All I do is lie on the sofa. Don't know whether I will even make it to work on Monday. I know I can't face Christmas and can't stand the radio on playing all those Christmas songs. I have no energy. I know I should try and pull myself together but what the hell is wrong with me?

So sorry to hear you are feeling so depressed. It sounds like depression, but as others are going to point out a doctor (shrink) can usually make the best diagnosis. Your concern for your condition is a good sign.

I CAN RELATE 2 PANIC ATTACKS AND DEPRESSION.
THEY SEEM 2 GO 2GETHER SOMETIMES.
BETA BLOCKERS CAN CAUSE DEPRESSION AND LACK OF ENERGY.

What is this beta blocker you're taking? It's the only thing that's changed and now you're nauseous, I'd want to know more about it.

Hi bridge

I forgot to mention I was nauseous before taking the beta blocker. Going to try and get another appointment at the GP next week

If your symptoms became noticeable after you started the meds then that points a heavy finger at the meds! So by all means make that appt with your GP. If you can write down the feelings you have had and when they started, and when you feel them the most on some sort of med/emotion diary that would be a great thing to take to your GP!

It sounds a lot like depression, but the nauseous part makes me think it could be something physical instead. I am glad you are going to your GP as they can rule out if it is something else or not.

    Many of you know Mr K told me to "shut your mouth" in March 2025 when we took a road trip to Alpena Michigan. Since that time, we have had lots of ups and downs but I have never intentionally hurt Mr K in anyway.
