Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Almighty God, We bless you for our lives, we give you praise for your abundant mercy and grace we receive. We thank you for your faithfulness even though we are not that faithful to you.
Lord Jesus, we ask you to give us all around peace in our mind, body, soul and spirit. We want you to heal and remove everything that is causing stress, grief, and sorrow in our lives.
Please guide our path through life and make our enemies be at peace with us. Let your peace reign in our family, at our place of work, businesses and everything we lay our hands on.
Let your angels of peace go ahead of us when we go out and stay by our side when we return. In Jesus' name, Amen.
It's like the poster didn't even ask for prayer. Not everyone subscribes to Jebus.
Anyway.
I am sorry depressed that you are feeling so defeated and not seeing that light.
I don't know what help you are receiving. Professional, medications etc.
I think it is hard when even the motivation to actually DO anything has gone.
I don't know what to say to you to encourage you.
I personally believe YES it can get better. EITHER your circumstances change OR your perception of your circumstances change.
There are those who are able to be content even in the most difficult of circumstances. I suppose it is something we must find from within. Not allow outside influences and circumstances effect us. And trust that it will be ok. Believe that it will work out.
It's easier said than done. I would like that for myself.
I encourage you to look at a different color other than black. There are different colors.
I hope you things improve for you
How about cutting yourself some slack and being a good to yourself. We, women, try to pamper ourselves when we are battling depression. You men can too. Doing something you enjoy will shine some light into that dark tunnel. It doesn't have to cost money. Just getting outside and "puttering" doing something enjoyable is pampering.
Hope you feel better very, very soon.
(((Hugs)))
Just as addiction can be very effectively treated and overcome, so can depression, and so can the other problems in our lives. Sometimes, if it's an incurable disease or the loss of a loved one, we just have to learn to accept it -- but that is "overcoming," too.
You don't say what you want, or why you feel so hopeless, other than the depression. So I can't give any advice or suggestions (not that you asked).
I hope you feel better soon. {{{hugs}}}
I spent about 10 years in deep depression, because of many reasons. I have some bad days now, but generally, I am good. I look back at my journals and I know I wrote in black, wore black, and felt that God and people had abandoned me. But my family was there all the time, and so was God. I just didn't see it or feel it.
You might be alone, maybe have not entered into treatment. I spent my teens trying to get help and never did convince anyone I was doing so badly, until I was finally hospitalized.
So my answer, is that sometimes there is a bend in that tunnel. And you cannot see the light at all. But try doing some practical things, like meds, exercise, eating better, and you may turn a bend, and see that light you are looking for.
And yes, motivation and desire is part of the package. But since you are here, you are already in step 1 of looking for help. Consider yourself to have successfully completed this step. You are motivated, and you didn't even realize it!! Good work.
Now, find out what step 2 is, and do it - take as long as you want, and we will be here to support you! ((((Hugs))))
