Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Personally, I think life is what you make it. I have always felt that way until my health stopped me from making my life what I wanted it to be. I will say this, I use to run on anger. I would be on a job, get pissed and go do the things I needed to get a better job. I was working on my final change when my brain and body blew a fuse.
I was a waitress with only a high school education. I got to where I hated to go to work. So, I went to one of those 9 month business schools when I got a job as an entry level clerical.
I got aggravated with that, went to college and earned enough credits to become an account clerk. While going to school to do this, I realized I didn't want to work in any type of business office.
So, I changed my major to counseling. I almost had my masters too, but then I blew a fuse. Yes, I am dissapointed with myself. My health was so bad I was asked to leave the program.
So no, I don't think it is the luck of the draw, I think it is what you make it.
Its the depression.. I hate that I was born with it and have to struggle everyday.. Just down in the mouth.. right now.. I hate this..
Of course everyone is stuck making the best of what we got dealt, but I've always wanted to be born to parents who loved me - that would have altered my entire life. But I'll never get that. So I'm basically folding and waiting for the game to end.
Sorry, I know that is a bit annoying, but can'[t think of anything else to add except for this:
meep meep!
I was a horribly defiant child/teenager, and basically did everything I wasn't supposed to do. I look at it as a kind of domino-effect and I feel like I will forever be punished for the way I was (and in some cases, still am).

We get dealt yucky hands sometimes but we have our friends who will remind us why it will all work out in the long run...we are all here to help each other out.
It's more like a roulette wheel to me
