Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

You may or may not know me, but my name is Jesse and I work here at DailyStrength. I'm writing to let you know that we're looking to add a few more Community Leaders to the Depression Support Group -- so we'd like to know if you want to become one!
In case you're not already familiar with what Community Leaders do, they're vibrant members who volunteer to greet new folks in the group, offer positive and constructive advice in discussion posts, help steer negative topics back on track, and occasionally close a clearly abusive discussion post. If you're interested in becoming a volunteer CL, please send me a private message with the subject heading of "CL for Depression". DS staff will then review the candidates.
To be considered for the role of a CL, we'd like to ask that you:
1. Be okay with having a profile privacy setting of either "Everybody" or "DS Members".
2. Have not received prior warnings from DS for violations of the Rules of the Road.
3. Have been an active member of the Depression support group for at least six months.
I'll leave this post up for a few days.

I do believe a CL should be a person of integrity and someone who has demonstrated objectivity.
This would need to be someone who has been here for awhile, and who has not left and come back because their last account was a
lightning rod for trouble, and they want to re-invent themselves....
You really DO want to know who your CL's ARE, who they have been. They really have to have a lot of patience and wisdom for this job.
