HI Thor, it sounds perhaps that the hospital has written a discharge letter to your GP to follow up your progress. Perhaps another discharge letter has been sent to the Department of Veterans Affairs from the hospital, so all these health professionals want to follow up your progress, and your GP is the only health professional in contact with you at the moment.. Have you been receiving treatment for service related injuries, e.g combat PTSD perhaps? These days, all facets of health service are linked together on the web to give the doctors a comprehensive view of each person's health and treatment. During COVID especially, everyone's health records are all linked up, sometimes without that person's knowledge, so that the Health department can trace the source of infection. If you are concerned, talk to your GP to find more about your treatment plan. You are entitled to contribute to your treatment plan as to what will work and which won't. All the best.

Nope, my PCP has nothing to do with my Pdoc and his orders, the 2 are completely separate worlds.

My PCP has always been notified when I've been inpatient. Her nurse coordinator always calls when I get home and asks if I need an appointment, but it is never required.

I don't mind the call, but have never taken them up on the offer for the appointment because as you mentioned, my PCP doesn't know enough about my psych meds/history to be much help, although once in a crisis when I couldn't see my psych doc she did prescribe a week's worth of Ambien to tide me over, so I suppose she could be helpful if needed.

I talked with them today. I would not meet with the GP by the clinc shrink. Which is good as a GP as help and would not nothing. The clinc shrink can help with the drugs and understand what I am going through.

This experience sounds like it's enough to try anyone's patience. I do my best to avoid doctors. They're like mechanics. When you go in for a checkup, they'll probably find something wrong, and if they don't, they'll wanna run tests until they do. What's the solution? Don't go to a doctor unless you have to.

Having worked in a hospital in care management, if the VA is your
GP or are paying for your stay (and I may have misunderstood your post--sorry if I did) then they need to coordinate all of the billing
care management etc...

Do what your doctor says and follow his guidelines because he cares about you, as i do.

I figured out the bottom line on this and it was just to make sure I follow up with the PDoc. It was an invitation to get a military PDoc that I could have used as a second opinion. It was just follow up with your PDOC letter.
