Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Please remember those feelings--that there's no point to life--aren't the real you. Don't let those ideas consume you. Self hatred is also something that can consume you. Please work on loving yourself, and just have hope. Even if you're not sure what to have hope in, find some reason to keep going.
There are a lot of great people in the world doing great things. They're onto something... they found something beautiful in the world. THAT'S REAL. And you can find it too... I know you can. Please keep searching. Honestly I think people who feel this way, the way we do, feel this way because we care so much. We don't want to be disappointed, so we become hopeless. The fact that you care makes you really special, and strong. Please hang in there <3
I know how you feel about wanting to die but not being suicidal. I feel like that frequently. I haven't been feeling well for almost 6 months and the only Dr who really listened and took me seriously was my Cardiologist. I know how frustrating it is when people don't really listen or take you seriously!!
Keep us posted. Sending hugs!
I pray you find that emotional and physical balance you deserve. You do not want to go to inpatient treatment if you can change some things (with help) in your life. I personally know someone there and it’s been a very long process, months and months. In and out constantly. This person was “sick enough” and I’ve seen her struggle so hard. Please don’t give up. You deserve to be happy and healthy and enjoy a productive and fulfilling life. You have to believe it in your heart and mind, then take the actions to follow up on it. God bless you and you are not wasting your therapist’s time. They are there to help. Hang on.
