Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I am going through that now. I really want to be happy, a few weeks ago, I was able to enjoy life (I love being at home at night relaxing, listening to music and playing games.) But I don't know what happened. It makes me sad sometimes when I see others happy, my mom is changing health insurances; I work for this organization that pays me to take care of my mom, but the money that comes in, is not spent just on myself but for the the three of us: my mom, brother and myself. We use that money to buy food, or buy things we want or need, so if my mom leave from her insurance, she has a chance to get another program that'll help her keep me. So far we had been hitting brick walls. It seem like everytime I turn around, something is emotionally hitting me. This time what is bothering is deep, it is effecting my eating, I'm not so thrilled, and I'm scared for my mom. Her teeth is effected and it is affecting her white blood cells, but the doctor is making saying things like she has blood cancer which we are not accepting because we were told by another doctor that she does not have cancer, her teeth is infected, the white blood cells is fighting an infection in her body. I also spoke with someone else who had teeth problems back in the 80s, they said that when their teeth were their mouth was infected, their white blood cells were effected too. I asked them did their white blood cells return back to normal after their mouth was treated, they say "yea". Mona, I don't reconigize this feeling and it is bothering me. Like yourself, I feel that I'm going out of my mind.
During the day, I'm busy doing all sorts of things. I take care of my pets, run errands, and so forth. I'm emotionally down because of the change in life. I sincerely understand and suspect things in life do change. I was fine a few weeks ago, I looked forward to the christmas holiday, but since the summer, life at home has not been the same because my mom had been sick but she is doing okay. We had dealt with family issues; some of it really played a big part on my mom's emotions. Now my mom has a bad infection in her mouth because of bad teeth, and her white blood cells had elevated a few notches. We do not believe that cancer is the problem because she had visit another doctor who said that they do not see that my mom has cancer; there was a person, who specializes in this stuff, said she doensn't have it. We talked with a few people who said that they feel that the infection in my mom's body is effecting the white blood cells.
I don't know what has come over me, but I only listen to music at night because it helps me relax. I have subscription with Rapsody, I listen to music from Youtube, I have music on my computer, collect music from the tv.
My mom is my best friend. I have other things going on in my mind. I'm not upset that my mom is changing health insurance because she has to go somewhere that make her happy. I just feel that everything is falling on me all at once. But I'm sure that I'll do fine.
Usually when the holidays come, my mom, brother and myself are quite busy volunteering with wrapping gifts, then we do something special for ourselves.
I know that none of you are dentists, but I was curious to know that if a person's bad teeth is pulled from their mouth, would their white blood cells go back to normal. She was told that she has a lot of infection in her body, I just want those white blood cells to go back to normal because it is bothering me alot and I hope it is not anything else.
Again thanks for your response, but don't think I'm not wanting to help myself. I don't drive because of health issues, but I do try to interact with other people, if they are not busy. Most of them are not available during the day because they work so I can only reach them at night.

Since you liked the college experience, maybe go back to just take one course a semester, not for a degree, just for interest, keeping the mind active, and making new friends.
IF your Mother's WBC count is high due to infection in her dentition, resolving that infection should lower her count.
A high WBC count is also a sign of leukemia. IN YOUR MOTHER'S case, her high WBC count is likely due to a dental problem .. not leukemia. In her case, the first thing I would do is get her to an odontologist (or the likes of) and get her dentition problems resolved. Whether she has leukemia or not, this would be in her best interest. If she does not have leukemia, the WBC issue should resolve after getting dental care.
What I am trying to say is her dentition is MORE likely the cause of a high WBC count than leukemia is .. at this point.
