Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
AnnJo, I do have hobbies and my brain has started to stir in the last day or so with interest in them. Before that, I was too anxious to even think about doing anything. I've never been so paralyzingly anxious before - depressed yes, but anxious not really. I hear you about the coffee - until this last breakdown I was a large iced coffee, cigarettes to get me going person. Once I got anxious and was throwing up, I quite the coffee and cigarettes because I was afraid of the burning in my stomach.
voodooguru - thank you so much for your kind words. The meds are being sorted. My face is a bit tingly and my hands a little itchy - but I hope it's not a huge allergic reaction.
(Not) funnily enough, my therapist stood me up yesterday due to a family emergency. In my depressed state, I thought I'd messed up the appointment date/time. Then I started to wonder if it was to "show me" since I had been late....Depression does very strange things to an otherwise rational person.....
