Today, I went to renew my driver's license and had to take a vision test.
I failed.
Yep, typical day in my life.
So, I had to get an eye exam and new glasses. Unfortunately., my prescription isn't cheap. Special order, come back in a few weeks. etc. I basically wiped out any savings I had for the year and most of next year. Ramen is now a luxury item to me. Little wonder why I keep the same glasses for years.
Knowing my life and luck, I'll probably fail the retest.

I got some online for like $35 a pair. If you have a complicated prescription, it costs more, or they can't do it, but I just have astigmatism and nearsightedness. They're great!
But I'm still wearing my prescription sunglasses that I bought 20 years ago, when the style was round. lol
Not having health insurance at the time, I had to shop around to find the cheapest eye doctor around. I had to drain my savings to have the eye surgery, but I had no other choice besides not driving anymore. That I can't do because I live alone and don't have any friends or family nearby.
