Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

yesterday at work was a big fucking joke... I feel like everything I'd worked so hard for has been undone. I'd really been working on keeping a lid on my emotions when I'm there, and yesterday I just snapped. We got slammed with work and a coworker yelled at me for something I didn't even do, which pissed me off like you can't imagine. I had to make a compound prescription and I think I did a terrible job. It took longer than it should have, although one of my other coworkers told me she thought it was because one of the components I was using seems a little off, it's less viscous than previous batches and she thinks that screwed with my compound a bit. Either way, I don't think I did a very good job making it. I feel like everyone there thinks I'm stupid and useless. I'm wondering if pharmacy is even the right place for me. I'm always tired and I feel really burnt out. I think all this contributed to what happened last night-- suddenly, I broke down. I was so overstimulated I was shaking, I couldn't think straight, and I had the odd sensation of flashing lights. Either way, I just began sobbing. I was barely able to complete my tasks, but I managed to pull myself together enough to get them done because everyone else had left except for one other tech, and we were still getting slammed with phone calls and scripts. Then the other tech there (who is more of a head case than I am, if you can believe it) tried getting in my space and forcing me to hug her. I nicely told her that's okay but that I would be fine, and thanked her for all her help. Me not wanting to hug her apparently pissed her off for the rest of the evening. I tried. I really did. I'd been doing such a good job of regulating my emotions at work, and it's all for nothing. I feel horrible about it. I don't want to go back in to work on Tuesday.

I got an email from Kohl's that I had a 40% off coupon for today and tomorrow only. It took me about an hour but I placed an order and got some great deals. I have been wanting a new dress. I like dressing up sometimes. My birthday is coming up and I have dinner plans at a nice restaurant. But, honestly, I'm a little out of control again. I went through this in the fall. I bought...

Has anyone else noticed that clearly speaking and doing things intentionally is liberating because it helps combat the feeling of depression and a sense of hopelessness? Let me share a little more: in my experience, when those who have tried to project a hidden agenda that is obviously not aligned with integrity and well-being, it's best to be firm and speak clearly from self-awareness and...

You do have choices, maybe not particularly good ones at the moment, but you can change that. Always remember that you have choices; don't surrender your power to your circumstance. I hope things improve for you at work!! TR
