Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Going off your meds abruptly can cause problems. You should maybe talk to your doctor about that, and maybe you can work something out... why are you stopping your meds?
Life gets hard sometimes. All you can do is keep your head up and remember that things DO get better. Live for the good days.
I am here if you ever want to talk.

do you have any friends whose parents might give a lift to the group thing. or buy some meds for you? its too important to be too shy to ask for what you need. scream it from the rooftops if you have to! im so very worried for you and if i could buy the stuff for you and send it too you i damned well would. actually that gives me an idea. will you add me as a friend so i can PM you?
lots of love and hugs
You definitely need to be on meds of some sort, and you need a psychiatrist to monitor you. Sounds like you may need different meds.
St. John's Wort is a mild mood enhancer, however IMO it can't touch the kind of debilitating depression we can sink into. In addition it interferes with some meds. I don't remember . . . but its either my birth control or my Wellbutrin it interferes with. So I never take it.
Love ya hun

St. Johnswort works in the same way SSRI's do, so that may work in your favor. Of course, the dosing is different than whatever you were taking before. Try to get a doctor on the phone and tell them you are switching to St. Johns Wort. Ask him how much he thinks you should start with and tell him your old medication and dosage. Hopefully, switching from one to the other can prevent the cold turkey effect, but I am not a doctor so I really have no idea.
I really don't like the fact that your mom is preventing you from getting treatment. My dad did the same thing.
