Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I have this overwhelming feeling that I'm not enough. This new body, this new me after the accident is not enough for anyone. I have too many emotions, too many bad moods at work. Who I am now is not enough to be a good employee. What I'm going through, what I'm dealing with day to day is not enough for my parents to want to be involved. They say they do but it's only on their terms and that's not ok. My needs are not enough for them, they want it their way or they stop talking to me. It just isn't right. That's not how you help me, that's how you hurt me so much more. I'm trying to heal, to pick the pieces up and make things fit but it's not enough. Some of me was shattered so now I have holes and places that aren't complete. I'm tired of everyone demanding more of me when I'm giving everything I have every day. Every hour, every minute I'm keeping myself from giving in and falling apart. I stop myself from reacting to how anyone else would react to pain. I'm making myself be stronger than anyone should have to be because I don't have a choice. I don't get to take a break from this. So my mood suffers, my limits with what I can put up with has diminished, my ability to put up with people not treating me fairly has nearly evaporated. That is the cost, the consequence for living with never ending pain.
