Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I just wanted you to know your not on your own with these feelings. I often say to myself that I'm broken, as I be been suffering so long with depression and anxiety. I've also been on several medications that haven't really done anything for me. I too worry about being a burden to my family. But theses are just thoughts and feelings, things can change. Believe me they can. Don't give up I don't blame u turning to drink, but in the long run it will only make you feel worse. Keep fighting try meditation, try taking to someone. I hope you feel better soon and I hope it helps to know your not on your own with these thoughts.
I am so sorry to here how broken you are. Yes you should go to the hospital and get immediate help now. I have been at the bottom and broken too. Alcohol, drugs, t.v., and forcing yourself to do things will not fix the problem. As people we are all born with a natural instinct of knowing there is a God. When we have hit rock bottom all we can do is cry out, look up and ask God for help. Because there is no other way out, but up. I found when I was broken, I needed find purpose and a goal to work towards. I also found that most of my family would not help because they did not understand. I lived way out of town and had no way of getting into town to a support group with people who really did understand. There was only one who understood me. That was God! I kept crying and telling Him; "I cannot handle this!" Over and over again, I would cry/ scream this out when I was by myself. I did not know what else to do. Then I noticed I was starting to cry out, "I need you help. Help Me! Please Help Me!" Slowly, I started noticing something else, my life was starting to change. The circumstances were still the same, but I felt like the burdens were being lifted off of me. My crying and screaming out became less and less. I felt like trying new things, going a different direction. I even had a desire to start reading the bible! Picked it up and began reading in Proverbs and John. my loneliness turned into comfort and feeling like I was really loved!
I am going to pray for you, because I have been there. I hope you will pick up the bible and start reading it, like I did. I have never regretted making that decision! I am now living a life of purpose and fulfillment. I met the man of my dreams 27 years ago and married him. We had three beautiful kids who are all grown now and living lives of their own. I have done so much in my life since that period of time. I am going to leave you with this verse from the book of John; " For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten, who believes in shall not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16"
