I know I'm wrong for letting this make me angry but my daughter 's father has not paid a dime of child support in 4 years, has not bothered to return my daughter 's phone calls in over a year and has not seen her or inquired about whether she was dead or alive. Yet he calls her back a couple of days ago and she's going to spend the Sunday to Sunday with him. Because that's suddenly who matters to spend Christmas time with. My father has recently found out he's dying, me and my parents are paying for her college education and giving her money every week so she doesn't have to work. My parents bought her car. And my dad may not live through another Christmas yet she wants to spend the Christmas week with a jackass who hasn't given me or her a red fucking cent go 4 years (she's 18 now). I ought to drag his sorry into court for back pay
I know women who have terrible fathers, yet they cling to the relationship. The best I can describe it is that they are clinging to what could be, what they want to be while the rest of the world sees them clinging to a terrible person.
Taking the high road is the only path that will give you peace in the long run. (And this path is independent on taking him to court for child payment. Which, BTW, I think you should do based on what little I know about your situation.) But it will be very hard.
