I got fired from my job of 5 years today "because I am no longer a reliable left-hand man to help contribute to the success of the business."
I had to leave in the middle of my shift on Saturday due to a really bad panic attack. My normal meds weren't working, so after an hour I decided to go the the ER. This is the first time I have ever missed work in my 5 years there and I was fired for it!!! I was second in charge at this location.... with 80+ employees under me. How could this happen to me? I was good at my job and cared about it.

Being I'm BP I never know when something may happen do to this condition. FMLA paperwork filled out by your doctor can save your tail in times like this.
I have intermitten days, ( up to 12 weeks ) per year if needed.Paperwork has to be filled out every year, at least in NC it does. Because of this paperwork, I can't get fired so long as the absence related to the condition on the paperwork.
It's info late coming,but perhaps you can look into this for the future.
