So, my computer locked today. I was given a number to call..........From what I thaught was Microsoft. The said, My network was comermised. And people from Chia were stealing large sums of money, To look at "Child Pornography" And the person I talked to at "microsoft" refured me to someone at truist, And that person gave prestty specific instructions on what to do about this thing. I made-up every eexcuses, I had something to do at home, I was gonna say: my the back of of my knee hurt, and couldn't walk (which was true, It really did hurt) But, this guy said it needed to be done today. So, he told me what to do to protect myself (and excuse the spelling, I am kinda nervous, And, when i'm nervous I shake and spell thing's wrong) He told me to: withdraw 5,600.00 (i took about 4 or 5 uber's to do this) he told to take 5,600 to it in an escro accout
He had me stop at a gas station and do the trasaction with bit coin. Luckily the uber driver that droped me off stayed in the parking lot, and came in the gas station to ask me about this, I told him (The truist "Banker" even told me not to say ANYTHING about) The uber driver was nice told me that had heard similar stuff happening: and was nice enough to drive me to my truist branch to re-deposit the money. And, I asked the banker if she'd ever heard of this guy, And branch manager overheard me and ask me so, I told her I had to go back and close my checking account, and open another one. Banker said she had heard, and a women got scammed out of money. So, thank god I didn't actually whire the mony (or "escro" the money.
I hate myself, for falling for it, I even tryed to tell my father about all this, But, He isn't a very patint person, If he ever found out that I actually took 5,600 out of the bank He freak out. I know i'm 46 Year's old, Still have to live by their rules, I can never learn from my misteaks i SILL get yelled st, I can remember my dad telling my brothers When I was a boy "U live under my roof u live by my rules" and i deel like I'm not aloud to take chances.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Do not let these people get away with this.
In the future i would like to recomend you backup any personal information to external drives that way if it happens again you just wipe and reload the computer to get it back into service and then restore any files from backup.
I have a ton of things on my computer some files going back 20 or 30 years but they are backed up to external and internal drives (internal get powered off until i need them). I can blow away my whole computer and still restore a backup that is at most a month old.
Even if you don't do that please write down everything that happened and make a report to the FBI so they can investigate. We cannot let these scammers win.

I don't think it's helpful for your father to yell at you or for you to be mad at yourself. Instead, take apart the transaction, learn, and make some notes how to improve in the future-
1. Go slowly, scams frequently ask for immediate response.
2. Anytime you're spending more than $500 check with someone.
3. Determine if there is a reliable 3rd party or source of information that can confirm what you're told.
Couldn't those uber driver's who took me to and from the bank and the gas station to get this money (5,600.00) could they get in trouble and me for being an accessory to a crime.?
