Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

And I'm wondering if your attitude that you are "more talented and more brave" comes across to your peers. Perhaps you come across as condescending and a bit of a conceit. Something to think about.
In new zealand we mock you if we liked you as much as if we don't. We're either mocking because we think you have courage, and can handle it; or we mock you because we think you're a sniveller, or smug, or up yourself, in which case we're trying to break you out of that and teach you to laugh at yourself
If your teacher is in on it, there are 2 possible reasons this is happening:
1. they like you and they're giving you a bit of attention by joking at you.
2. you're a jerk and they're sick of you.
How to handle them?
1. laugh and joke and tease back, or else find a funny way to put yourself down.
2. laugh and joke and tease back, or else find a funny way to put yourself down.
If you want any respect in that class you're going to have to earn it by not taking yourself seriously, by taking a joke against yourself, by leaving your ego at the door and by letting someone in that class be better than you.
You have to let people be better than you, and you have to let them be right even when you know they're wrong. It'll be the making of you. Now get back in there, and show them you can take a joke.
And I made it sound like I'm a superior to them, I'm not but after feeling like a failure your self-esteem drops pretty low and you start to look for compliments and not criticism.
Saying to take a blow to my self-esteem?
That's just going to hurt more in a significant amount of ways.
Also your idea of a joke is extremely terrifying if your implying a harassment and a joke are the same thing.
And FYI I don't have to say what happened because it's irrelevant to what info is needed.
Thanks for your advice :)
You have to work out if you want friends or not.
If you want friends, you are going to have to drop your ego and leave it at home.
If you don't want friends, carry on doing what you're doing.
They're going to ignore you next. You won't be harrassed. You'll be walked around. You'll disappear.
As to the 'i have low self esteem' - there's what you say, and then there's what you do. You can tell me all day you have low self esteem and indeed I think the world is filled with smug superior people who just 'can't understand' why nobody likes them who develop a dichotomous break in their self esteem being both way over the top, and way under the bottom. I have one I have to work with. My mother is one. She swings from pompous ass to subservient doormat.
Your ego is bound up in your academic abilities. But academic abilities are worth approximately squat. They won't get you anywhere. The world is filled with highly educated wage slaves. Look at Donald Trump. Do you think that man can even read?
There's far more to intelligence and education than getting high marks on tests. And there's far more to success than intelligence. You're no better than anybody no matter what marks you get. You may as well think you're better than the rest due to your looks, or the car your daddy drives.
Get rid of your ego. Just go on courage. Get real, and become one of the team.
2nd- good idea both of you
3rd- thanks!
