Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I'm a freshman in highschool but I already feel like I've failed everything. I constantly feel worthless and I'm stupid (my grades are really bad this year) I have a teacher who hates me apparently and my friends tell me to report him being unfair about my grades but I'm just really stupid and I don't know what to do. I'm supposed to be the success child and now my parents are upset with me because only 4/8 of my grades are a 95 or higher and 1 of them is lower than a 90. Why am I so worthless??? I'm not great at anything and I need to play more sports so I can go to college and if I mess up my entire family is going to be let down.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

go humble yourself. Talk to your teacher. What can happen with 'em is they get kids who have learned to swot and cram, and 'fill the jug' of learning but this particular teacher doesn't want to fill jugs. He wants to light candles. He wants to spark discovery.
And until you discover that this is where they're coming from, you're actually pouring water on your candle trying to fill it like a jug, and putting the flame out every time. You can't understand what's going wrong and they can't tell you till your mind opens up enough to ask.
So just go have a chat. It's okay to do this. But go in humble. :)
Best of luck, young one.

Remember that a passing grade is still a passing grade and I think sometimes parents, whilst trying to help their children reach for higher goals and stretch goals, lose sight of life and what is truly important. Some parents are just trying to help but some are really pushing too far and setting a standard that is not maintainable.
If you go and see a Doctor. Do you want to be sure he is a Dr right? Do you want to know he passed his medical exam right? You do not start asking about his grade point average and what subjects he struggled with at school! You Just concern yourself that he is a Doctor. Replace that with Lawyer, Pilot etc. I also think parents sometimes want to re live life through their children. It is totally okay to not be a Doctor or Lawyer and such. It is totally fine to do something else. Working with your hands is honest and respectable. You should try and reflect on what is important to you. What does cakegoddess want? what does she like? what is she good at?
You could think about whether talking to your teacher will help. I would ask them if it were possible to meet with them after class sometime. Tell them you are struggling in the class and you want to do better. ask what do I need to do or what can I do that will help me in this class?
You don't have to ask anything ever but if you do that would be a good way to approach it. That way your teacher will feel comfortable and not defensive, you will be more confident in asking and they will be in a position to tell you what's wrong with your work or what you are not doing good at. Thank them for meeting with you and tell them you would appreciate any help or advice they can give.
You do not have to agree with it but it will at least break the tension that is there now?
Follow your heart but keep your brain engaged. I wish you well and you can do this. Sometimes we just need to give ourself a time out and a word with ourselves. This is about you and your life. Try and align your actions with that goal in mind. It is also okay to not know what your goal is right now. In that case, concentrate on a good general solid foundation to build on. ? It is actually someone's graduation speech that was put to music. It is some great advice for everyone!
You have much ahead of you!! Pace yourself. Don't do like I did...burn out before you get going good!
It is your life! Quit being so hard on yourself!
