Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I understand your Fibro as I suffer from it too and it is non forgiving. We just have to learn that there is no cure, no matter what they try to sell us, and I'm talking about all the snake oil salesmen there are out there.
Don't become suicidal, become angry and let these people know you are not going to be walked on just because you have to live on a fixed income. You are not alone there either. Hugs GB
I'm sorry that I don't have much solid advice to give you, but gramybear gave some good places to start.
One day at a time (((hugs)))
Thank you Sadiegirl you are right I need to not let this push me over the edge. So much has been happening, it is just becoming too overwhelming. If I can't get more time with my car I don't know what I'll do. I have no where I can take it to try and sell it. I can only hope that they have to give me more notice and if not try to work with them to allow me more time to try and sell it. I don't know why they are making a big deal out of it, as my neighbour said I'm paying my rent and it's a huge lot so it is not like they are hurting for parking spots.
Hope1955 Has A Great Idea. There Are Several Auto Auctions In My Area, And It's A Good Way To Sell A Car Fast.
Please Stay Strong Sweetheart.

Thank you to you too Wallybear. I did look up auctions are there are some in my area so will call tomorrow. Sadly I went out to try and start the car and the battery is dead, so not sure if it can be charged or if I have to get a new one and the cheapest for my car was $90. I'm hoping my neighbour knows of somewhere cheaper like used.
So sorry to hear things have went to this extreme:(:(
As far as the car's battery being dead, there is a fairly good chance that if one of your nice male neighbors has a car, he could "jump" it to get it started and then let it run for a while to charge the battery. If you haven't started it for a long time, that could be the problem and then you wouldn't have to buy a battery.
Maybe one of them can help you find out what the "book value" is on it and that would help you set a price to sell it for to.
You most likely wouldn't get the book value but it would be a starting point. Check in your paper what similar cars are selling for
that would help to.
If you have Craig's List up there, that would be a free place to advertise.
Set the price a bit higher than you actually want, most people want to "dicker" over the price, that way you'll have some "room" to deal with them, that's if you are selling it yourself, not via the auction.
It would be a very wise thing to have a neighbor there with you if someone did come to see the car, these days, one can't be too
careful!!
Is there anything in your rental agreement about how long a car can stay parked there?
At the least, can you tell them you're in the process of trying to sell it? Maybe that would buy you some time.
I know so many laws up your way are different than they are down here.
I hope one of the auctions will be an option for you!!!
Don't throw in the towel, please...there's a good chance you'll be able to sell it, that'll get the landlord off your back and give you some dollars to put towards Sophie's surgery.
I know all this added stress is making your Fibro and CFS worse to:(:(
I know Mondays are not good days for you but I hope you can find a few minutes to step away from everyone and pamper yourself for a bit, anything that will give you a break from it all.
Keep reaching out here, you can see how many people do care about you and you need all the support you can get now, more than ever.
(((((very gentle hugs))))))))
Sending you peace and the hope things come together quickly!!!
We did try charging the battery but unfortunately it wouldnt hold the charge. So it is dead. The one dealer doesnt have any used for my car and the other place my neighbour is going to see if he can get one; otherwise they are going to give me the one out of their car that they are not driving right now.
I have looked up comparison prices for my car and it looks like I wont take less than $1000 so we are going with a price between $1200 and $1500. My only concern is if disability takes all the money or just half; like if you were working. Of course my mom nagged me that I should be donating it to a place called Teen Challenge. I would if I had all kinds of money. I need this money and it would be great chunk in saving for Sophies surgery.
My neighbours are going to help me right an ad for the car. I think we are going to post it on Kijiji. Only problem is the car cant really be driven anywhere because of no insurance and expired tags. My neighbour said people can get an idea of how the car runs by just driving it in our parking lot. Many people sell cars as is. The car is in fairly good shape such as no rusting and only 120,000 KM on it.
Also, I called the landlord and tenant board here and I guess the owners of the lot are within their right to only give me 7 days notice. But I also found out they cant tow it. They have to fill out an application for a tribunal hearing with a judicial (honestly not sure I worded that exactly right) so that gives me more time to sell it. I am going to email the owners and let them know that I am selling the car and if they could give me more time. There are other cars on the lot with expired tags and no license plate at all. My neighbour is one of them and they never received a letter and dont understand why they are picking on me. I havent done anything, I dont cause trouble or anything to get complaints and Ive lived here long before they were ever the owners. I personally think they are trying to push the last few of us out because weve been here so long and they have been fixing up the units as people move and charging about $150 more a month to new tenants.
You are right..I need all the support I can get with everything that is going on.
