I have notice something. Seems like when I post something positive on a social network sites I get no likes or responses. When I post something negative I get many likes and responses. Why is it that negativity draws people in? We as people need people when we are up and down. People are willing to tell us we right for feeling negative towards something, but they fail to acknowledge us when where are positive.

You are right. Misery loves company, but no one wants to celebrate just being able to get through the day. Keep posting the good stuff. I whine alot but I also acknowledge when I turn my negativity around. Be proud of your positivity. Best wishes.

Tends to be the same here. Think it may be people just don't want to be to airy fairy. It's why I like the pink song f@##ing perfect. It's a bit more down to earth with a positive message.

I heard THAT. I had a whole pack of friends who belittled my happiness and fancied themselves my caretakers when the sorrow rolled in. It took me a long time to realize the lot of psychic vampires were using me as a way to feel better about themselves; they are long gone now. Always foster relationships with people that support you during bad times AND congratulate you about the good. Remember that people that empathize with negativity without trying to banish it can do nothing for you or themselves.

Keep posting the good and positives. It is true we do acknowledge the bad more often but some of us just get a good feeling trying to help someone else.

That is one reason why I have abandoned Facebook altogether. I find FB also diminishes your self-esteem in subtle ways..

On here, we stray towards the negative because that is one of the missions of the group, to help the depressed person. I don't think it is very nice to accept help from people and then call them psychic vampires. If you don't want help, don't post it. And, yes, I prefer the happy post but that doesn't happen to much in a depression group. We are not known for being positive. Some will help hold you on that pity pot for as long as you want to stay there, but, then when if others confront you we are called mean old bullies. You can't win sometimes, no matter what you do.
