As far as the 14 year old, dont they always hate us about that age? I know my oldest did me.. But he finally got over it.. I pray for you and hope they can see their mistakes... sending you some positive mojo.

My oldest daughter disowned my youngest daughter and me for a year because she was so taken with my ex's girlfriend. In time she saw the lies and woke up to come back home. I pray the same happens with you. ((((((((((hugs))))))))))

LOL Is it typical? Well Of course it is. In fact, every teenager I've ever known has hated their parents at some point. I'd be more concerned that your son DIDN'T. :) I bet he did, just never voiced it. So, anyway, you are a great mom, and parent, and I'm also willing to bet that you have raised your children to such a standard that they too, will be able to see thru the phonyness and deceite that lies ahead. Just be sure to let them know that they can always come back. Don't burn any bridges. They will wise up once they grow up. Granted, some take more time than others, but they usually do learn.
