Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Sometimes when you are not interested, they come at you and when you are, they don't know you exist. It is an age old phenomenon.
you are. I know, i don't have all the answers. as usual. but... you are over thinking this.
and listen to WV. he is awesome. You aren't doing anything wrong.. you just need to take things slow. you are doing so great getting out there in the social group. It's too soon to think about a FOREVER relationship. You have alot of healing to do . the most important thing right now is you getting better..... feeling better.
don't talk about what you think you will never have again. I understand your feelings, but you just lost your wife a few months ago Drew..... you have so much life to live....... and things are going to get better. Just please take one day at a time. Take care of YOU.
and you still have it. :))
just take your time.
big hugs xx

You seem to know your boundaries but perhaps need to know how to express them. For example, I have a boyfriend so if a guy makes an unwanted adavance I simply say, "I'm really flattered but I'm in a committed relationship right now" and that usually gets the point across. I hope this helps. :)
Who cares if she is pretty, her heart if there is one is butt ugly. Wow, that was as clear as glass! If my wife had just passed and this moron got in my face I would slam that door but quick. Just my 2 cents but from an observers point of view it makes it crystal clear.
So I would take it as the ultimate compliment that someone is interested in you. Feel good about that.
And I agree with LuvMyTitans, just take it slow. Getting out there in a social group is a great step. But relax and take it easy. Things will get better and you will know when you are ready to go to the next step.
Maybe she's attracted to your pain, and wants to fix it.
God places people in our lives to fill a need. For all you know, your wife on the other side IS the one sending this woman to you, because she knows you need someone to help mend your aching heart! The Lord works in mysterious ways...
Tell this woman that you'd like to take it slow, but definitely don't close that door on your heart. Keep talking with her! This woman may be EXACTLY what you need.
The only way to push through the pain of loss is to love another. When you love another, you're not only honoring the existence of the one you lost, but, in loving another, the spirit of the one you lost is right there, so you're in effect keeping the spirit of the one you lost alive.
Your dearly departed wife only wants you to be happy. The only thing that is keeping HER from being happy on the other side is your pain!
My pain, over missing my dearly departed brother, completely evaporated when my sisters conceived and bore sons (!). That let me know that there is a God, and God is love. He sees a void, in our hearts, and fills it, with new ones to love.
That's my feeling anyway.
There is a Bereavement board here that, too, might help you.
I sound like an old person when I say I don't think I can love again. No one can feel this void and I wont look for any one to because it wouldn't be right for me to mislead any one into thinking that I could ever love again. It is still early in my loss, almost 4 months since she has passed. It sort of descusted me that this woman completely disregaurded the fact I was in morning.
