Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Have him removed....I don't care how depressed you are...as soon as he is removed (use the energy to get him out)....you will feel 80% better...the other 20% will come from taking your meds.....and talking here and to a therapist. :(
I agree that your boyfriend is not good for you. Misssy is right, he's abusing you emotionally. You deserve someone who treats you with respect, and wearing an I Love You necklace you didn't give him is very disrespectful. I don't want to be mean, but you need to leave him behind and not look back.
I don't know why he wouldn't just ware a necklace I already got him. They may not say I love you.... but one of them I had custom made for him...
It doesn't remind him of YOU...how could it? Its not from YOU.
Its from another girl...who probably could care less about him now either.
Move on please...please...you deserve better.
Honey...you will find better men....if you start NOW to respect yourself and not put up with being anything but #1.
When you stop taking certain types of med like psych meds that have a big impact on the brain and neurological system, those systems get very confused because they don't know what to do or how to get that chemical back that you took away. Some meds like Zoloft can even leave a wake of other "med victims" in it's trail. Because your brain is looking for that particular compound it will mess with the other meds you take, interfering in their potency, interfering in how long they work, etc.
It's never a good idea to just stop a psych med like Zoloft. You really should check in with your Pdoc and see what he thinks about this or if there's something else you could take that you like, so that your system can reboot and get you to stable.
It really sounds like you and your partner could benefit from Therapy. You guys seem to have a lot going on with a lot of difficulties on how to solve issues, big or small.
A good Therapist can give you coping skills and tricks and tools for your "together toolbox". Ways to work through arguments, the blamegame, and just life's general disappointments. A relationship is hard work for normies, throw someone with Depression in and it becomes incredibly hard work.
While , I understand what your saying Oldc , I think the Zoloft made me a lot more likely to commit suicide and unstable. I was actually very upset when I found out this was not just an anti-anxiety pill to calm me down. My doctor didn't tell me it was an anti-depressenr. My mother did weeks after I started taking it. While , I understand that there's probably a lot of medications like this ... where it helps both problems .. it was still something my doctor should have talked about with me. I don't trust him now.
And while I am looking for a new doctor it's something that I am having a hard time doing right now... because I want to get better , but my core has no motivation too because the depression makes me go " why do I even deserve this? I'm not important , what's the point if I can't even get the people who love me to treat me like I'm worth something?"
And then Logic will swing back around and try and disprove those thoughts... but right now I am just not able to put effort into it. I know that sounds awful and I want too. I probably will get enough drive eventually.. but I'm not even sure I want to try to go back on antidepressants....
Because I'm bad now but it was so much worse when I was on them. I don't know if I want to risk it.
Anyway back to your posts, I know how it is to feel like if other people don't care about you, that you are not worth caring about, so why should you care about yourself. Itl's like all you want in the whole is for someone to care about you and want to take care of you and help you when you need it.
I never got that from anyone, not really. So I've learned to live without it. I instead put my energy in to trying to help others, raise my child in a way that she feels loved and special, so that she does not suffer the same ways from rejection of others that I do. I can understand why you would want to have children, but you REALLY don't want to have children with someone who is an asshole, and I hate to say it like that, but you and I both know he is, not unless you want Social Services knocking on your door after you and he are no longer together every time he gets pissed at you or wants to control you for some reason.
