Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I am at the end of my rope. Except for a temporary job in the elections division this last year, I have not worked steadily for 3 years and have not had a full time job for five years. This has really made me feel badly about myself, and it hasn't helped that many people on my Facebook are hard-core right wing, who basically believe that I am stealing from them, because I have needed help. They don't come right out and say it, but when you see posts that say, "we're not supposed to feed wild animals, so why do we have food stamps?" it is pretty hard to not feel personally attacked, even if I paid taxes more years than have needed assistance. This kind of attitude is one of the reasons I left church--they seem to be all about compassion for the homeless and condemnation for those who do whatever it takes to prevent homelessness. Not really setting a good example of Christian behavior. Along with the depression, I struggle with faith. I definitely went to the wrong church, as far as that goes. I don't believe that believing in one particular party(most of you can guess which one) makes you a better Christian or whatever your faith tradition is. I could care less about gay marriage, in fact I believe it should be legal in all states, as it is a civic function in our society. I don't believe that people who don't think the way I do or believe what I do are going to hell. I am feeling a lot of anger and depression, but I miss seeing some people, and I know isolation is not good for me. There are days I really wish I wouldn't wake up...although I will not commit suicide for the sake of my kids. I just need to know how others manage to go on when they feel so crappy about life.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
