I am trying to cope with, my fucked up head right now, but i don't really want to go see a therapist, or psychologist, or be put on drugs, or be put into psych ward. I don't like therapists, period, i still don't understand why i should ask for advice from a person that seems to have theirs in order and who does a therapist talk to when they have problems, yea i am not trying to sound like a smart ass but really how should i take advice form a person that lives in a place where nothing affects them, so they cant relate to me. Psychologists, well not many good around me anyway and going to one would cause me to lose my job, and make things worse and i don't have time or the money for them. Drugs, well that brings me to a point about all three, a while ago i had a lot of friends that were in a place that they were somewhat happy, but when they showed signs of depression or anything else, what was the first thing they were put on, some sort of drug that was supposed to make them feel better, did it? Well for some it did, but they were never the same after ward, the ones that couldn't get better seemed to follow in the path of self destruction, later on even death for some of them. I have tried to feel better without these things, its not that i feel like i don't need them, but if i can make it through this without these things, well maybe down the line i can help others with the same method and i can feel proud to know that i can conquer this, there is also nothing wrong with getting help, this i know, but i am so sick of hearing the same "get professional help" line. I know i will get a lot of bad complaints for this, i don't care, What may work for some, will not work for all, i have had a bunch of pain in my life, no pills taken, i always thought that if drugs were supposed to be natural and good for you they would grow on trees like apples, they don't. Maybe talking with someone that is in the same state and can relate to you is better than all three methods mentioned above. Depression is also natural, you may disagree with me but everyone can get it, some don't get it, and putting something unnatural in your body to combat it doesn't make sense to me. Is it wrong to think like this, am i an idiot?

well a lot of pills are just supped up herbs, which are natural. And a lot of poisons are also natural. I am not saying tally forth and medicate yourself. Meds are often abused by some or too quickly meted out by docs that don't really care or listen to their patients. What I am saying though is that maybe you should give them a try. Give it all a try, you might be surprised and it might help. If you think your depression is harming your life and quality of living then why not give it a try? If it doesn't work or gives you bad side effects or the therapist doesn't understand you then by all means continue onwards. But without trying it you can not fully say that it is something that works for or is good for you. I know though that this site has helped me deal with my depression greatly. Without these wonderful people on here then I wouldn't be in as good of a mental state as I am.

I have tried many of the herbal remedies like htp5 I think it's called, St John's Wort, and native remedies mind soothe and melancholy lift but I can't say I noticed much difference with anything even zoloft is not 100 percent effective but it helps. I definitely don't think you are wrong though to worry about what doctors push us to put in our bodies especially when you hear all the horror stories happening after a lot of people have used some drug that hasn't even been on the market that long. I've known some people on 80 different medications, granted they are usually elderly, but still that seems a bit excessive.

i can totally relate with everything you are saying. im not 100% sure im depressed but i think everything says i am. ive had some really good years with none of these moods but for the last few months this dark cloud and my stupid fucking head wont go away. im 30 now and ive tried to fight this for years on my own but im starting to think that maybe there are professionals to help for a reason. im not too sure that its something you can fight on your own, if everytime in your life you have a setback and it brings about this horrible feeling that just wont go away... but id really like you to fight it on your own, that would inspire me!!!!
