Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Sure I had aquantinces at school but I never socailised outsdie of school.
For as long as I can remember I have always at least hit myself out of pure anger, and that escalated into cutting, drinking etc etc
It didn't matter where I was, who I was with or what I was doing there was always something in my head making me feel low.
I never classed it as depression until my teens, I never knew what depression was until my teens.
Hope that help xx
i dont think i really understood depression until i was 12. i know at 6 i would withdrawn. but the thought of actually being depressed like i am now, never really happened until i was around 12 and would set around with nothing to do cause i didnt know anyone.
Yes, I as at the right age to get out on my own, but I did not think I would have to do it with them so completely gone from my life. Went into reactive mode,.. and stayed there, .. flying blind.
Druid, isnt is so unbelieveable that the military will not take responsibility for what our young (and older people) go through to protect our country? I have heard so many reports of ex military men becoming suicidal and alcoholics.. It is a true shame.
Broken, you sound so much like me it is pathetic. I remember that I always wanted something real bad to happen to me so that I would end up in the hospital and someone would show me love.. Now I wish for good health for my family and I.. That includes mental health.
Do you think some depression is hereditary and you can pass it on to your children? It so scares me. I wouldnt wish our disease on anyone. Not saying it is worse then another disease...
Sucks too. Hugs Lexia
