Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
You have to make up your mind .... either stay in the shape you are in as it worsens or change what you must to have a better life.
If you need help to make those changes, it's out there. Seek and ye shall find.
Your humility is gallant .. but this is about YOU ... and it is time to find the sunshine. Put your mind to it, .. and straighten up. Alcohol is no solution. You could start there ... but you need to put water on all the fires. Stand up for yourself and do some recovery.
When it comes to our family members who have had negative influences, yes you ultimately have to decide, do you find the ways to keep them in our lives, and ignore there bullshit ways of negatively bringing us down; or you can let them go altogether if it's that bad. That's what I have done is chosen to keep distance rather than trying to put in all the work myself.
I see therapist three times a month sometimes and this helps just to get through some of the daily stress so can heal from my broken self. I like music also, but it can also trigger the past and some of it's not great. Taking a walk and getting away from situation for a moment to think on your own without someone telling you what to do or feel. Just a few things to help us get by.
