Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
So, when you find yourself reaching to hurt yourself, do you pray at all for help ? Do you say, "Mother Mary, help me. I need you." ? Every time ? Even if you don't believe in her, there's no harm in saying those words. She has given you strength already to make it this far. What did you call it earlier, a miracle ? Miracles do happen. Mother Mary is there for you. She will wrap you in her mantle of love and tenderly show you the way. I'm not trying to convert you, here. I really just want to help you. There is a Truth out there that is bigger than all of us. And when we follow that Truth, miracles happen, lives are saved, and there is peace and happiness within. (okay, sorry if I'm sounding too preachy here, just please take my advice.
I have tried the advice . Yet it has yet to stop me :( I have wripped my arm open many times today . It has actually gotten to the point where my arm just hurts all the time regardless of anything touching it or not :(
I just finished a 7 day graduate course . How I finished that during a crisis I don't know .but I did that . Now I'm even more scared because i have nothing going for me now . No work no school . When I have nothing going on I go south mood wise . I'm already so deep in a while what's next ? Death :(
You aren't as deep in the hole as you may think. Brighter days are just around the corner. You have to move past those events. It won't be easy, but you have to move past it. Life isn't always going to be kind to us. We all have to deal with it, though.
That's great that you've finished your grad course! You now have time on your hands to do other things, pursue interests, apply for jobs... you have the whole world in front of you! This is an incredible time in your life.....you have so much ahead of you! Don't you see ? You have EVERYTHING going for you now!
Have you offered to help your mom around the house or with anything that she may need help with ? Doing something constructive for others can be one way to keep your mind off of harming yourself. Chin up! Ya know what you need ? A big dose of Shirley Temple!!! Ha! Watching that little girl can brighten just about anybody's mood! :)
I know you're not ignoring me. I just want to keep encouraging you to continue doing it - like all the time - because it's not like you just say it a few times and something happens - it's gradual. And, you know, I believe she has helped you already. Otherwise, you wouldn't be here.
Have you had a chance to go to a Catholic Church or chapel ? I understand you can't drive b/c of the situation, I never could drive(because of the epilepsy) and I'm 46. Here's what you've got to do - now, I know y'all are not christian, that's okay. But ask your mom to take you to a Catholic Church. I'll bet if you told her that you think this will help you with your problem, she would agree to it. Make this your mission. Focus your energy on finding ways to get to a Church.
Mention it to your therapist on Saturday. Tell her that you desire to try going - even if it's for just a few minutes or so. I mean, if you really want to stop the picking & stuff, you should try everything, right? Go for it. I believe you can do this.
It's a new day and I had my sheets wripped off me to get out of bed I don't want to move I have.nothing planed for the day and I don't see the point to getting out of bed . Fast toward to now and I'm finally out of bed but I have nothing going for me today :( just staying in my house and doing what ever chores my mom wants me to do :( that dosnt help my head at all .. I just want this all to end
Smile, smile, smile!!! Even if you don't feel like it - smile anyway! Sing as you go about your daily chores! It's hard to be sad when you're smiling and singing! C'mon! You can get through this!
Have you heard of EFT? It stands for Emotional Freedom Technique. Look it up. It's a way to help you overcome bad moods. I've tried it, and it really works. I don't know why I haven't mentioned it before! http://www.tapping.com/ and http://www.doctoroz.com/article/introduction-emotional-freedom-technique Look into it - it helps! That's why my mood is good!
Tell your mom, better yet, show this discussion to your mom. Let her read for herself what you've been going through if she won't believe you. Let her see - she needs to be informed of everything you're going through if she's going to help you.
Mom thinks is by telling me to stop it will work .. but it dosnt cause I haven't stopped
